Finally got my hold on Archie Collection from MAC!

It was released on the 22nd of Feb at the BUGIS pro store and will be launching 1st of March nationwide.

I did not manage to get swatches for everything since the store was crowded 😦

The beauty powders (the one with the little hearts) are going for SGD 50 each. Lipsticks are SGD 32. Powder Blush SGD 40. Eye Shadow quad SGD 72. Brush set (with 2 limited edition brushes not available in their regular line) is SGD 110

I purchased 1 blush (VERONICA – PROM PRINCESS) , 1 lipstick (BETTY – OH, OH, OH) and 1 eyeshadow quad (SPOILED RICH)

Whilst the packaging is cute, it has a white background which could get a little dirty if you do not take care of it. Also, do remember that some of the colours are actually in the regular product lines and the pricing is lower than the ones in the Archie Collection (oh packaging!!~~.. So cute so expensive)

** The heart shaped tin box was actually a door gift for the official launch and the MUA was so sweet to give me a tin filled with “Sticky” candies.

The blush I got in PROM PRINCESS is gorgeous pink/berry/reddish satin powder. Blends beautifully and the colour payoff is slightly sheer with buildable coverage. It fondly reminds me of my favourite blush VINTAGE GRAPE – BLUSH OMBRE by MAC. The other blush by Betty was too light for my skin tone (NC 30 – 35)

The lipstick that attracted me was Betty’s OH, OH, OH. It is officially described as Sheer brown plum lustre. The colour might look shocking to you at first since it is really dark, brown, coppery, rusty, reddish colour. Yet when you swatch it, it is such a beautiful lipstick.

As it is sheer with buildable coverage, it gives a shiny sparkly dark tint to the lips without removing all redness from your natural lip. The lipstick is also creamy and moisturizing.

As there are tiny coppery reflex / fine glitter in the lipstick, it gives a light reflecting finish to your look. Must have for darker skin tones.

The last item I purchased was the SPOILED RICH eye shadow quad. There are 2 quads ( I am assuming the neutral palette belongs to Betty and the purply vampy i.e. Spoiled Rich belongs to Veronica).

My favourite colour is purple and it was an instant hit with me. Just like the WONDER WOMAN collection, the quads are made of tin/metal. It does not feel heavy though. Comes with a mirror too 🙂 The colour payoff was better than the Wonder Woman collection as I had issues with the shadows being chalky and you had to pack on the colour.

Spoiled Rich had a much better pigmentation, shadows were not as chalky and there were 2 frost ( Pin Up Purple & Spoiled Rich), 1 Satin (Ron, Ron, Ron) & 1 Matte (Gravel).

Left to Right: Pin Up Purple (Midtone Orchid – light purply/lavender) , Spoiled Rich (Rich Purple – reminds me of MUFE’s purple), Ron Ron Ron ( Deep Navy – Purply/Blue/Grey) & Gravel (Charcoal – Greyish/Newsprint)

** I initially wanted to purchase 1 lipstick in Boyfriend Stealer – Veronica, but the swatch came out patchy, the colour settled into the fine lines and the colour did not build up in a smooth layer/coverage**

** The brush set and beauty powders are a fast selling item so just in case you are contemplating on getting them, head down to the MAC stores early to swatch them 🙂

Have a great week ahead and please do subscribe :p
