Hi Glamifys,
Benefit recently released their “FAKE UP – Crease-control hydrating concealer”. It retails for SGD 38 and after my 10% discount, I paid SGD 34.20. It came in 3 colours and I took the middle shade ” 02- medium”
The packaging is extremely cute and simple. Comes in a tube that is similar to lipstick. Each tube has 85g or 0.12 oz worth of product and it is made in the USA.
As seen in the picture, the concealer is in the middle whereas the vitamin E and apples seed extract surround it. Therefore, each application gives you just the right amount concealer to moisturizer ratio.
The product does not settle into the fine lines too! The staying power is about 6-8 hours.. Used it for a whole day and my dark circle was camouflaged without any creasing. I did set it with the Sephora Mattifying powder so that would probably have helped.
Whilst it may not be suitable for extremely oily skins, the creamy texture works well on my oily/combination skin. It feels oily in the beginning, but once you blend it out and it sets, the concealer does not feel oily.
The eye looks brighter as well. It has a dewy finish with a sheen.
It does what the product claims and would definitely recommend this. However, Benefit may want to look at expanding their shade range. 3 shades is just not enough to cover everyone’s skin perfectly. Best to try it out for yourself over the counter.
If you are not able to, here is just a basic estimate on the colour choice.
The lightest shade is probably for MAC NC/NW 20 or lower. (most Chinese and Caucasian girls picked this at Sephora) the medium shade 02 is for MAC NC/NW 20 – 35. (most Malay girls or fairer Indians picked this). The darkest shade is for MAC NC/NW 40 and above. (saw some Indian girls matching to this shade).
The above is just what I observed at Sephora where customers were trying it on their skin.
Hope the above helps.
Cheers,
Glamify Sg
