Review: Nip + Fab’s Dark Cirle, Shine & Sheer Make Up Fix purchased from Luxola.com

Hi Glamifys,

As many of you may have heard, Nip + Fab is an affordable brand from UK that aim to give you that perfect skin by “fixing” your problem areas.

I have seen some of their products at random Watsons or Guardian. However, the prices are a little more expensive that the average brands carried by those chains.

A couple days ago, I received an email notification that as part of the Nip + Fab launch, Luxola would be giving a 20% discount till midnight of 6 May 2013.

I purchased 3 items in total and absolutely loving them. Delivery was amazingly quick as usual (within 24 hours in my case).

1. Dark Circle Fix – sgd 19.56

It comes in a small handy pump bottle which is an absolutely plus. It has a gel light consistency that reduces dark circles (using red algae) , reduces puffiness (tetra peptide) and fights premature aging (shea butter)

What i like most about it is that gel is quickly absorbed by the skin. Fine lines around my eyes are significantly lesser and the puffiness has reduced. My severe lack of sleep over the past few days have also caused terrible dark circles (yes! panda me!) and the dark circle fix lightened the skin to a great extent.

The smell reminds me of shea butter much like sk ii eye cream. For those who hates strong perfumes in products, this is great since the smell is not overpowering.

Absolutely loves!

2. Sheer Make-up Fix – sgd 29.90

This is one of those products that confuses you in the beginning.

It could be a primer (for the rest of your makeup routine), or a bb cream on its own, or you could mix it together with your foundation to give it a tinted moisturizer effect (experimented this on my own and is a nice way to “dilute” foundations that are way too thick such as MAC pro long wear)

Sheer Make up Fix contains osilift to reduce appearance of wrinkles, hyalurionic acid to hydrate and reduce fine lines plus oat to soften and moisturize skin.

What I like most about it is that the clear gel texture is absorbed within seconds and the skin has an immediate natural radiance and glow to it. My skin looked fairer and skin tone was even out.

right picture is with sheer makeup fix all blended out.

Only draw side is that this fix did not cover my acne or scars due to it being light coverage. Mixing it with your foundation solves this issue and you get flawless natural dewy looking skin.

There is a mild scent to this product and fragrance had been added to it. Personally, it reminds me of the smell of lanolin which is bearable.

3. Shine Fix – sgd 19.90

This reminds me of MAC’s oil control lotion. Shine fix is aimed at mattifying the face by having micro sponges that absorb the oil before it gets to the surface of your makeup. Seboclear targets the pores to clean and purify plus remove black heads. This controls excessive oil production. Nettle is added to tone and balance the skin as well.

It comes out as a slightly whitish gel which absorbs quickly into the skin leaving the skin matte. This fix has a mild scent of eucalyptus and can be used before, during or after makeup.

I prefer to use it before my makeup and if I get too oily during the day, I would blot my face first with tissue before applying a small amount of shine fix to the skin. I would then add a little face powder just to set everything in place.

Overall, I am pretty happy with the items I purchased as the results can be seen within moments of applying them. Most products in the market “fix” the problems at the surface. For e.g., add reflecting fine specks of glitter to bring radiance to your face. Once you stop using those products, the effects are gone.

It is good to know that whilst Nip + Fab have similar quick fix solutions for the surface problems, that they also target the root of the problems and attempt to fix it with time.

My free sample with this purchase is from Korres.
