Review: Etude House AC Clinic Daily Sun BB Cream SPF 30/PA ++

Hi Glamifys,

I have been loving the Bobbi Brown BB Cream for the last couple of months and it was time for me to talk a walk in bb land world once more.

Here is a review and an update of the Bobbi Brown BB cream just in case some of you would like to read up on it 🙂

Etude house is a rather well known korean chain in Singapore with many stores around the island. Given that I have never used any of their facial products before, I thought of experimenting with it.

There were a few BB creams available ranging from light to heavy coverage. I decided to purchase the BB cream meant for acne/pimple prone skin and/or oily skin.

It’s called the AC Clinic Daily Sun BB Cream with an SPF of 30 and retails for SGD 25.90.

My personal take on this is that the BB cream has very sheer coverage. It does not cover my acne scars completely and allows natural skin to show through. It has a semi matte, dewy finish and does not feel oily. I feel that it mattifies the face to a good extent as well.

The BB cream does give a pinky radiance to your skin and evens out the skin tone as well. Great that it includes sunblock too. There seemed to be a slight flashback when taking pictures with flash. This is partly contributed to the bb cream being too light for my skin tone.

The smell is pleasant too for those who are worried about funky smelling face products.

As for the acne, the BB cream did not sting or irritate the acne. It glides smoothly over the acne and make the acne a little less red.

just a few things to note:

1. the color is extremely light. not suitable for darker skin glamifys

2. it has a very unique consistency. creamy (more to the liquid side). however, it feels extremely difficult to blend as it slips and slides on the surface on the skin.

3. due to #2 you find that the first few minutes of your time would be spent on trying to blend the product into your face and hoping for your skin to absorb it.

4. yes! the skin absorbs it eventually. the color still looks a bit too light for me (not as stark white like i first applied it) but it was wearable. Just remember to take it down your neck to achieve one color

Below are some swatches of the BB cream used on its own.

I found a solution to the above issues by successfully experimenting with mixing this bb cream with other products such as primers and bases.

Given that one of the few products recently added to my collection were from Nip + Fab (see review here : ) , i had mixed half the BB cream with half of Nip + Fab’s Sheer Make Up Fix.

This combination works wonders!! BB Cream applied so effortlessly and was absorbed into the skin so easily. The coverage remained light (which was an issue to use Sheer Makeup Fix on its own since it is a clear gel with no coverage). Face did not look cakey and was simply like another layer of skin.

For those who are thinking of purchasing this BB cream, you could experiment by adding it with moisturizers (for dry skin types) or you could use this bb cream as a base and then apply regular foundation on to achieve your natural skin tone (for those who find that this bb cream is too light for the skin tone).

Hope this review was helpful. Despite the BB cream not being too convenient for me personally (since i have to add the sheer makeup fix) but i find that the issues i had with sheer make up fix and the bb cream on their own have now been solved by using them together. Great combination for my skin 😛
