Review/Haul: Doll Me Up Cosmetics by Nazlin (Singapore)

Dear Glamifys,

I am so excited to share with you a brand made right here in Singapore. I guess it has been around for many years but I had only recently discovered it through Facebook.

There was a mini series of classes that were planned out by Nazlin, the owner of Doll Me Up Cosmetics, and I thought it would be worth 2 hours of my time on a lazy Saturday to head down to her quaint little studio near Joo Chiat.

After the lesson was over, she presented her products for those who were interested. While her class was very interesting and informative, I was getting a little excited to swatch her products for the first time.

From what I understand, her stuff are made in the USA with HSA approved ingredients. So it is completely safe especially with the recent scare of certain products that were tainted with nasty stuff.

I bought 3 eyeshadows, 1 blusher, 1 face primer and 1 concealer wheel.

As there was a sale going on, it is best to check her website for the latest colours and pricing.

First up, eyeshadows in Slippery, Gold Digger & Iguana going for SGD 6.50 each.

Slippery is such a gorgeous blue with little specks of colourful glitter. Extremely gorgeous to use either for day time or a night out.

Gold Digger is extremely pigmented and vibrant. A nice shade of gold which is also versatile for every makeup junkie.

Iguana is a rich forest green that swatches better than it looks. Multi dimensional and pretty from every angle.

As you can see, the swatches have great colour pay-off. Fall out is minimal as well. Here are more swatches without any primer or base.

I also purchased 1 pretty blush named BLOSSOM at SGD 19. It has a deep reddish-pink undertone that reminds me fondly of Peachykeen from MAC.

Many fair skin ladies are afraid to try dark red-pink blushers when it actually looks good on them. Such blushers give a natural healthy glow like your blushing from just beneath the skin. This is an absolutely love plus the added fine shimmer is a bonus to sun kissed face.

The blusher easily blends and is buildable depending on your preference. It is also very pigmented so use it with a light hand.

One of the famous products on her list is the face primer. Unlike many silicone based primers, this primer keeps my face matte all day long. I have used smashbox, makeup forever and laura mercier face primers and they will not stay pretty for long under the Singapore heat.

However, DMU’s primer is awesome as it keeps my face looking fresh all day long. The primer retails for SGD 38.

It is clear so you can use it under any foundation. The primer not only kept my face matte but also reduce the visibility of fine lines and big open pores. Best applied with the fingers I reckon 😛

Primer also comes in a pump bottle which is handy not to mention hygienic.

My hand looking smooth like a baby’s b*tt 😀

The other versatile product she has is the All – Around Cover in Neutrals. It is basically a wheel with different shades of concealer which is great for all types of skin.

I have always preferred concealer palettes rather than single colours since my skin has mulitple shades depending on how the sun hits my face.

The key to such palettes is mixing and matching. Don’t be afraid of dipping your brush or fingers into multiple colours to get the perfect shade for your skin. This retails for SGD 48. A little pricey but well worth it.

All in all, I think Nazlin’s products are great. Reasonably priced, easy to use and she is extremely friendly.

Thanks once again for the class Nazlin. You were great at answering all the questions posed to you.
