Review: Maybelline’s hyper glossy liquid liner

Hi Glamifys,

There is a new collection of pop bright colored liquid liner by Maybelline at Watsons and Guardian in Singapore.

Each retails for SGD 13.90 and you may find then on sale especially during this year end.

Some watsons are selling at ” 2nd piece 50% off” or price is slashed to SGD 11.90 each.

The gloss is extremely glossy with an almost vinyl finish.

It is smudgeproof and can withstand our hunks weather here.

From top to bottom:

Black
Brown
Hot pink
Dark blue
Turquoise teal blue
Khaki green

Top row is a dry rub test. I had to rub it really hard just to get some of the liner to come off!

Bottom row is the waterproof test. If water were to run through the liner, it does not smudge or budge. However, if you were then to rub it, the liner peels off like a liquid latex or vinyl. You do not get messy liner running down your eyes. At the most you get chunks of liner missing. Definitely easy for clean up and no need for a cotton pad with makeup remover to clean up the streaky lines.

The brush is slim and rather stiff. Great for beginners too. Use the length of the liner brush to your advantage.

Place the length of the brush parallel to your eye and a simple swipe will give you a nice straight line.

Cheers,

You could use a very dark eyeshadow base so that you do not over power the eye with the pink liner. 🙂

Or you keep a bare eye and draw a regular line with a black liner. Then draw a line on top of that with the pink liner

It’s a nice way to tie in a simple look with the fuchsia lipstick !

That sounds perfect! I haven’t seen these liners before, but that doesn’t mean much because I haven’t been paying much attention to them in the stores lately. I have so many eye liners that I need to use up!

I did try a pink mascara once… it didn’t turn out well at all lol!

How about starting a new trend where the base of your eye lashes are black and the tips are hot pink ? Hee
