Review: Full Swatches of M.A.C’s Guo Pei Collection

Hi Glamifys,
Who is excited for the luxury collection of the year??? M.A.C Cosmetics comes up with one very luxurious collection each year and yes, it is to die for!
*Prabal Gurung was last year’s collection*
Guo Pei is a famous designer and has dressed plenty a celebrity over the last few years.

Before I go on to the swatches which you can find on most websites, I think the 2 questions I had in mind before I held the products in my hand were:
1.What material is the packaging made of? Will it get dirty fast?
2. The size of the products given that the price is more expensive than regular collections.

The answer to the first question is that the packaging is made of satin/silk – like fabric.

While it doesn’t get dirty quickly like other absorb any fabrics such as cotton, you do need to care for it a little extra compared to a regular M.A.C compact made of plastic.

Surrounding the sides of the fabric is a metal frame. It feels metal to me but I could be wrong.

The weight of each item feels really heavy and not a flimsy sort of plastic case.
The back of the compacts are a simple gold/bronze metallic slate.

As for question 2:

The size of the eyeshadow quads, Blushers, lipsticks, gel liner, gloss are basically the same size as the regular line items.

The beauty powder is bigger than previous collections and is the biggest compact out of all.

From bottom to top: beauty powder, eyeshadow quad, blusher

So on to the swatches 😉

Price list will be at the end too. This limited edition collection will only be released at Tangs Orchard on 1 October 2015.

The beauty powder is unlike those in other  collections  as this is almost matte to me.
It’s a translucent white powder with barely any coverage. If you love very fine setting powders, I think this is a great item for that purpose.
But if you wanted to use it as a highlighter, probably not the Guo Pei Beauty Powder 😬😜

The 2 Blushers in this collection are super gorgeous!

I feel like having them both everywhere I go. It has a satin finish and blends perfectly with ease.

2 eyeshadow quads came with this limited edition collection and both are my favourite.
Morning light to the left

 Night sky to the right

Morning light has a permanent shade “amber lights” in the quad.
While some may not want to purchase a permanent eyeshadow for so much more, this was the quad that first caught my eye.

The colors complement each other so well and for those who love natural looks, this is a must have!

Night sky has the blues that I’ve always wanted in a quad.

The dark metallic hues that makes it easy to switch from day to night. The pigmentation is fantastic as well.

Compared to morning light, the darkest shade in night sky applied superbly well.

For the darkest shade in morning light, the eyeshadow applied a little patchy. This was easily solved by patting the eyeshadow instead of swiping it on.

The 3 gel eyeliners FLUIDLINES  in this collection came with a classic gold packaging.

I was surprised at how opaque each one was especially the blue. That was my favourite of all.

On to my ultimate must haves! Lip products! Hehe
Not everyone can rock a bold lip so cremesheen glasses are beginner friendly 🙂

The cap is covered in fabric which adds an elegant touch to the cremesheen glass.

I had to get all 3 lipsticks and given that all 3 lippies were more to a cremesheen, translucent finish, it has become a staple in my makeup bag.
Very moisturizing and glides on so smoothly. Kept my lips hydrated for 6 hours straight 😘😘😘❤️.

Zenith is a pinky nude

Ethereal Orchid is a rosey pink nude

Brave red is a cherry red
